My Philosophy
Did you know that wagging tails in dogs can have different messages? There are many types of wags: Unsure, Worried, Alert, Agitated, Stressed, Excited, Playful. The same can be said for a lot of other dog body language, but I named this business after the tail as it is so commonly misunderstood that wagging dogs are always happy, relaxed and friendly.
My goal at Nedra’s WAGZ LLC is to help you better understand how to interpret your dog’s signals (tails and more) and partner with them for better communication in order to achieve your ultimate goal: a happy and cooperative canine companion.
Together, we will forge the best possible relationship between you and your dog, leveraging positive reinforcement and reward-based techniques. These techniques are grounded in modern science and supported by force-free organizations and professionals worldwide. No choke chains, prong collars or shock collars. Just humane fun for humans and canines alike.
I’m committed to research-based methods and continuing education as the field of dog training, dog behavior and applied ethology continues to evolve. Did you know that the field of dog training is unregulated and that anyone can say they are a dog trainer? For this reason, I believe in certifications through the organizations leading the way on modern dog training methods and adherence to a strict code of ethics.
My training philosophy and ethics align with those of industry-leading organizations committed to force-free training. Linked below are the ethical standards of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, and Pet Professional Guild.
